Lewis Hamilton: "I am absolutely useless"

Lewis Hamilton is being tough on himself.
Lewis Hamilton, who finished only twelfth in qualifying for Sunday's Hungarian Grand Prix (starting at 3 p.m.) while his teammate Charles Leclerc took a surprise pole position, is feeling down. The British driver was very harsh on himself after his elimination in Q2 on Saturday at the Hungaroring.
"Every time, every time..." he said over the radio. In French, in the text: "Every time, every time." Every time, the pick-me-up? That's certainly what Hamilton was referring to. Because when he returned to the pits, he must have been thinking under his helmet.
"The team should change drivers instead."
And he was quick to openly confirm it. Asked by Sky Sports about the causes of this latest underperformance, he responded immediately: "It's me, every time. It's my fault. Right now, I'm useless, absolutely useless."
The journalists facing him tried to be understanding and tried to find out more about the technical problems his Ferrari is having, but the seven-time world champion cut them short: "The team isn't the problem. The proof: the other car is on pole. The team should change drivers instead."
A stark contrast to the joy of Charles Leclerc, who had just secured pole position ahead of the invincible McLarens. These statements are worrying, to say the least, at least as far as the future of the collaboration between Ferrari and Lewis Hamilton is concerned.
